Five Star Movement (M5S) Assembly: "Cuffaro's resignation? Good, but it won't change much. We need to dismantle the patronage system."

Cuffaro's resignation as national secretary of the DC? Good, but it changes little. We need to dismantle the patronage system that is stealing Sicily's future. Instead, let's wait for another step backward, that of Schifani. Only then will Sicilians be able to begin to hope to glimpse a ray of light at the end of the tunnel into which this disastrous government has led them. This was stated by the Sicilian coordinator of the M5S and vice president of the Sicilian Regional Assembly, Nuccio Di Paola, and the regional group leader of the 5 Star Movement, Antonio De Luca.
"Schifani should not delude himself," the two MPs continued, "that this resignation will silence the inevitable controversy and protests that will follow the shameful and disturbing news coming from the Public Prosecutor's Office. Sicilians demand clarity, and so does the regional Parliament, which continues to futilely ask him to report to the Chamber on what is happening and on the collapse of the healthcare system that this government's failed and shortsighted policies have brought to the brink. He should stop running away and take a stand on this disaster."
